Karl is an experienced and passionate educator and school administrator. He has supported teachers, teachers' aides, parents, publishers and community groups across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.
Karl's breadth of experience includes a range of administrative positions, classroom teaching across Prep to Year 6, a strong and active interest in Reading Recovery and positions such as Head of Literacy. Karl also has extensive experience in planning and teaching diverse learners. He is well-skilled in extending students operating across the upper two bands, as well as supporting students with disabilities, English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) and Indigenous students. Karl's unwavering commitment to supporting students to reach their full potential is noted as one of his strengths.
Karl's dedication to teaching students, coaching and mentoring teachers and working with leadership teams to improve literacy outcomes, continues to ignite his passion and has led Karl to opportunities to author for leading publishers. Karl is currently involved in two new projects. He is thrilled to have been selected to join an elite team to author teacher resources for international release by Ashton Scholastic. This extensive project enables Karl to apply highly developed skills in explicit teaching, curriculum, unit programming, lesson development, resource support and data-driven instruction. Karl is also excited to be authoring and reviewing a new range of resources for award-winning publisher, Macmillan. On this project Karl will draw on his expertise to write teacher support resources which focus on developing receptive and productive language and improving questioning techniques.
In addition to Karl's extensive knowledge and experience, he is well known for his optimism and solution-based approach to navigating a constantly evolving educational landscape. His warm, friendly and highly professional manner enables him to easily establish relationships and to adapt quickly to new environments.

Karl and his wife, Angela, relocated from Sydney to Brisbane in 2012. They are parents to two beautiful boys, Braxton and Ben, who fill their days with joy.
